2025 Shanghai Auto Parts Expo Kicks Off, 7,465 Exhibitors Usher in New Era of Automotive Components
The world's largest automotive parts event is underway in Shanghai, showcasing an industry transformation across 383,000 sqm—from new energy power systems to intelligent driving solutions.

The 2025 Shanghai International Auto Parts, Maintenance & Detequipment, and Services Expo (hereinafter "Shanghai Auto Parts Expo") opened grandly on November 26 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

Under the theme "Innovate · Integrate · Sustain," this year's expo utilized all 15 halls for the first time, featuring 7,465 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions—a record high.

The highly international exhibitor lineup was matched by a global audience. Pre-registered visitor numbers increased by approximately 25% year-on-year, covering nearly 160 countries and regions.

01 Record-Breaking Scale
Organizers reported an exhibition area of 383,000 square meters, a 9% increase over the previous edition.

The number of exhibitors grew by 10% year-on-year, with all metrics setting new records.

The global automotive industry elite gathered as the CEO Summit of the 2025 Automotive Industry International Development Conference simultaneously launched the four-day event.

"The breakthrough growth in scale confirms the vibrant innovation and global influence of China's automotive industry," said Zhou Shaolan, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.

02 Focus on New Energy & Smart Connectivity
Amid technological transformation, the New Energy & Intelligent Connectivity zone became the highlight, expanding 50% in scale.

Over 40% of exhibitors presented related solutions, focusing on core electrification components, smart cockpits, charging/battery-swapping tech, and intelligent chassis.

Nearly 30 domestic and international brands debuted, including Siemens, National Chip, Tianneng Battery, and Quectel.

"More complete vehicle manufacturers are leveraging the expo to enhance international influence and optimize supply chains," said Zhang Li, Chairman of China National Machinery International.

This aligns with industry reports projecting the global new energy auto parts market to reach $700 billion by 2025.

03 Deepening OEM-Supplier Collaboration
The expo featured a comprehensive gathering of OEMs and supply chain enterprises.

Leading brands like GAC Aion, Li Auto, Chery, and Tesla exhibited alongside top supply chain firms including Chen Zhi Group, Dongfeng Dana, SAIC, and Weichai Qingzhi Tech.

These companies showcased full-ecosystem solutions from R&D to after-sales.

Dongfeng Dana's booth received visitors from Russia, South Africa, Iran, and Turkey on opening day, highlighting their next-gen e-drive axle products.

04 Global Industry Resources Gather
International participation rose with 15 country and region pavilions, representing a 20% increase in exhibition area.

Over 24,000 professional buyers from 261 organized groups attended, including first-time groups from Argentina, Denmark, Switzerland, and others.

During the "Preferred Buyer Club," select enterprises held closed-door meetings with international procurement teams like Stellantis.

05 Segment Highlights
Beyond new energy, the Tires & Wheels section grew 50%, while Parts & Components expanded 10%.

Leading global firms like 3M, Bosch, ZF, and Horizon Robotics exhibited across all automotive segments.

Brands like YAKIMA showcased comprehensive solutions for "hardcore off-road" and "refined camping."

Three themed zones debuted: "Tech·Innovation·Trends," Green Repair, and Tuning x Tech. The mascot AutoHu also made its first appearance.

06 Data-Driven Market Outlook
The expo's success reflects strong industry growth. The global auto parts market is projected to hit $8.5 trillion by 2025.

From 2025 to 2030, it's expected to maintain an 8.5% CAGR, potentially exceeding $12 trillion by 2030.

Competition is intensifying. Q1 2025 data shows power battery firms reporting revenue of ¥84.705 billion, with net profit up 32.85%, outperforming traditional parts suppliers.

This divergence stems from technology-driven margin differences—25%-30% gross margin for NEV powertrains versus ~10% for traditional parts.

The Shanghai Auto Parts Expo serves as a global showcase and a core platform driving green, intelligent transformation and global supply chain collaboration.

With the market poised for 8.5% CAGR from 2025-2030, the industry is entering a technology-driven, structurally optimized new phase.

Firms mastering technological innovation, brand influence, and supply chain advantages will lead this transformation.
